Every Dixon, by population

Nine Dixons are counted as places by the Census. Here they are, biggest first, from the 2020 Census. The other twelve are listed below them, uncounted and unbothered.

Bars are drawn to the same scale. On a true scale, everything after Illinois is a sliver — that is the point, and the numbers stay printed beside every bar so no town gets rounded away.

Twelve Dixons are unincorporated communities. They are real places on the federal map, but the Census Bureau publishes no population for them, so there is no honest number to rank. They keep their usual state-by-state order here.

Where our facts come from

The list comes from the U.S. Geological Survey's Geographic Names Information System, Domestic Names (release 2026-09-30): every Populated Place named exactly Dixon. Populations are from the U.S. Census Bureau, 2020 Census Redistricting Data (P.L. 94-171), table P1, read 31 October 2026. Where the Census has no separate count, we leave the number off rather than guess one.

Not in the table: Nebraska also has a Dixon County, home to 5,606 people in the 2020 Census. The village of Dixon is in Dixon County.

Size is only a count. Every Dixon above, counted or not, has the same kind of page: start at The Dixons.
